ADB lends support to Belle Garden Anglican Primary School

On March 8, 2023, the Agricultural Development Bank – Tobago Branch Manager, Mrs. Shelé Johnson-Edwards, and her team visited the Belle Garden Anglican Primary School to be a part of the school’s Agricultural Science project themed ‘Money in the Mud: Agriculture as a Business’.  The project required the students, with the guidance of their teachers, to be involved in the cultivation of a crop from seedling to harvest.  The project will culminate with a Farmer’s Market which will be hosted at the school on March 31st, 2023 to highlight the and sell the product and/or products that each class produced.

The Agricultural Development Bank was approached by the school to partner with them in this schoolwide initiative.  The Bank was pleased to assist by contributing self-watering grow boxes and potting soil/Promix towards the agri-project.

In addition, and as part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility, the Tobago Branch Manager, and her team visited the school to lend support to the students and their project and to share information on the different careers associated with the agriculture sector while encouraging the students to explore this important field as a viable business.
